Hi! My name’s Jodie Ronan and I’m the new Young Carer Project Officer. I’ve actually been working for Carers WA as part of the Social Support team for 3 years. Some of the things I helped to put together were movie days, day trips and social support groups.
I know what it feels like to be a young carer because I used to be one for my Mum and my brother. So helping other young carers is something that I am pretty passionate about! I am really excited about working with you and your families. Don’t forget that as well as fun events, we can also give you information on your caring role and help you to find someone to talk to if you need to work with someone to figure things out. We also go to schools to raise awareness about the important things that young carers do to help out at home and why this can sometimes affect you at school.
If you’d like to talk to me about your caring role, please head across to “Contact” and drop me a line. I hope to meet you or talk to you soon!
